Position:                         Business Development Manager Mass Spectrometry

Reports to:                     Geschäftsführer Deutschland / CEO

 

The Client

The Client is a service provider to companies pursuing drug discovery and development, diagnostics development and research on nutrition. Its core competence is the profiling of metabolites on the basis of mass spectrometry, innovative bioinformatics and data mining systems. Its cutting edge services help improve and accelerate discovery and application of biomarkers and other compounds in development. This is of significant value to pharmaceutical companies as part of their pre-clinical and clinical studies; the Client also works with world class academic institutes and clinics. The aim is to discover novel biomarkers for a wide range of diseases and to advance the development of health care.

The Client’s technology and company development has reached a stage where many more customers and partners worldwide could quickly benefit from its services. The new Business Development Manager Europe shall assist in growing today’s base of customers, institutes and clinics.

The Client is owned and supported by a world class chemical company with a longstanding reputation both with their customers and their employees.

Tasks

  • propose and acquire business and collaboration projects with customers and lead the negotiations with these
  • build a network and access key decision makers within the growing base of target companies
  • identify growth opportunities in current and related markets
  • implement new business concepts for novel applications of the technology and the Client’s competencies
  • establish tailored business concepts and models for preferred customers and groups of customers
  • contribute his / her marketing and scientific knowledge to the Client’s high profile Business Development Team
  • attend conferences and networking events to represent the Client and to follow closely the customer and market trends

Qualification:

  • PhD in one of the Life Sciences like Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry and / or an MBA; scientific background in a relevant field of diagnostics and / or drug development
  • Several years of experience and track record in a business development function within biotech or a Pharma organization
  • Thorough analytical and communication skills, specifically when sharing technical information with diverse audiences; good writing skills.
  • Self-motivated, well organized and driving decisions forward
